ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY FOR THE Packaging sector
Specific aspects of the sector and the environment
Paper, plastic and other types of media waste is generated in packaging production plants. In addition, due to the current high demand for packaging for any product, with an emphasis on the food sector, these companies are polluters and need systems to reduce air emissions.
The use of colouring inks is commonplace during the production process of today’s packaging. These inks, together with the solvents added in the packaging machine, generate VOC emissions during printing.
Pollutants in the packaging sector
Typical contaminants come from inks and mixing with solvents. The most common are ethyl acetate, isopropyl alcohol and toluene. Other solvents may exist but are used to a lesser extent.
